The True Superpower
Today morning, with a hot cup of tea in hand and watching the news “India Tv”, a thought suddenly struck my mind. A thought about the true superpower around the globe. If you ask anyone about the superpower countries, everyone will have names such as USA, UK, Russia ………………But India, on the contrary, has stood out today. When the television channel these days show how India is handling the COVID 19 situation, when New York Times, who once criticized India and the Indian government about everything starting with, going on to the Mars to removal of article 370 from Kashmir to the recent Delhi riots, are now praising and covering the steps taken by Indian govt every second and every minute. “Indian’s Divider in chief” — quoted by The Times Magazine, same “Mr. Divider” is today stepping forward to unite India against the classic chronic disaster that has hit the world.
Today i understood the true meaning of being superpower. Superpower is not only in a country's Defense system, Technology or Economy. A true Superpower is when the country is able to handle every kind of situation, and save the people who have helped the country become, one of the superpowers, especially an Epidemic. These superpower or powerful , fully developed countries should technically have powers to resist the spread of such epidemics. These advanced countries should have been ready with the measures, if ever any difficulty comes to their nation. But it seems that they have forgotten about their own people, while showing the world, their power. and this is what, today, took them down.
When we hear about USA, UK, Europe…. the first few things that come to our mind is power, capabilities and abilities. But the way these countries showed their insignificant inability to stop the spread, certainly proved their true incompetencies . Weren’t these powerful countries such as Spain, Italy, France, cities like New york, Washington, had a potential to stop this disease from spreading across? But this is sheer carelessness and lack of awareness. It’s a shame for such “SUPERPOWERS” to lack the ability to fight or atleast stop the escalation of this disease. If a developing country like India, a criticized govt. like Modi’s, can take such simple steps to halt the spread of this poision, why can’t the government of such robust nations could have thought about the same? It couldn’t be the lack of understanding for sure! But, thinking about this Virus on the initial stages would not give any govt. any advantage for themselves and so they intentionally avoided the preventive measures.
I have always been and will always be so proud to be born with an Indian Nationality, a country who can never let its people die, be it anywhere around the world. India has today, proved globally, that it is a TRUE SUPERPOWER.
